The Cocoa Fire Rescue 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb event is a tribute to the 343 firefighters, 71 police officers, and 2,996 civilians who lost their lives during the tragic events at the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001. The event is a joint effort between the City of Cocoa and the Cocoa Firefighters Association, and all funds raised benefit the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation and the Cocoa Community First program.
?Firefighters, police officers, military members, and members of the community are invited to join us in climbing the equivalent of 110 stories - the height of the fallen World Trade Center towers - on the steps of Tiger Stadium at Cocoa High School to symbolically finish the journey of the 9/11 first responders. The stair climb is not a timed race and participants can climb to any desired level. An adult or guardian must accompany minors who participate.
