Councilwoman Koss Appointed to Serve on FLC Legislative Policy Committee

District 4 Councilwoman Lorraine Koss

The Florida League of Cities, the united voice for Florida’s municipal governments, announced that Cocoa Councilwoman Lorraine Koss was recently appointed to serve on the Florida League of Cities 2023-2024 Utilities, Natural Resources & Public Works Committee, one of the League’s five Legislative Policy Committees.

As a Legislative Policy Committee member, Koss will help develop the League’s Legislative Platform, which details priority issues that are most likely to affect daily municipal governance and local decision-making during the upcoming legislative session, as well as help League staff understand the real-world implications of proposed legislation. Committee members are also asked to serve as advocates for local decision-making throughout the legislative process.

“I’m looking forward to working with Council Members from other cities to develop our legislative priorities, explains Koss.  “It is an opportunity to put my career background in water policy issues to good use.”

Councilwoman Koss retired as Deputy Director for the U.S. Water Alliance.  She has a Master’s Degree in Environmental Management from Duke University.
