The City of Cocoa in collaboration with CareerSource Brevard is once again hosting Cocoa residents who are either a junior or senior at either Cocoa High School or Rockledge High School for a five week paid summer internship. This unique program offers Cocoa youth the opportunity to learn about career opportunities with their local government. Opportunities are available in Information Technology, Leisure Services, Human Resources, Customer Service and more.
Each participant in the program will go through career readiness training with CareerSource Brevard and interview for the available positions. "This program is a special opportunity for our young Cocoa residents to prepare themselves for a future career after high school. Learning the career possibilities available with their local government shows these students there is opportunity for them here at home," said Cocoa Mayor Michael Blake.
Applications for the program are now available and must be received no later than May 7, 2021. The program runs from June 14- July 16, 2021 with a graduation ceremony on July 27, 2021 at the Cocoa City Council meeting.
