Diamond Johnson has been a part of the Cocoa Police Athletic League (PAL) for the past three years. In the last two years alone, Diamond has contributed more than 100 volunteer hours to the Cocoa PAL After-School Program and did such a great job, she was hired on as the assistant for the PAL After-School Program during her Junior year of High School.
Diamond has completed two years of Youth Employment Training with Cocoa PAL and continues to volunteer with the program. This past summer Diamond assisted the Cocoa Police Department with the Cocoa PAL Summer Cops and Kids program where she worked
as a Camp Counselor.
Diamond currently serves as President of the Cocoa PAL Youth Directors’ Council (YDC). This year, she began her Senior Year of High School where she has maintained at least a 3.5 GPA. One of her teachers, Ms. Hardy stated about Diamond, “I believe that Diamond has the potential to not only change Brevard County and her community, but the entire world for the better.”
Diamond was selected by the State of Florida Police Athletic/Activites League as the 2019 Florida PAL Girl of the Year. With this prestigious honor also comes a $1,000 scholarship.
