This event has communities across the county recruit volunteers on one day and pick-up trash throughout that community.

This year’s Trash Bash event was held on April 6, 2019. Our Leisure Services team recruited 313 volunteers to pick up trash throughout the City. Those volunteers collected 11,576 pounds of trash throughout the entire City on that one day.

After the volunteers were through with collecting trash, they came to the Porcher House for a volunteer luncheon served by some members of Council including Mayor Williams and Councilwoman Koss.

A number of different groups volunteered for this event including Cocoa PAL, Cocoa High School ROTC, Team BACRAP, Saturn Elementary, Rockledge Youth Football League, the Brevard Democrats, Trinity Lutheran Girl Scouts, Top Teens of America, City of Cocoa staff and many more.

The City of Cocoa came in second place for the entire county in both number of volunteers recruited and amount of trash collected behind the City of Palm Bay who collected 14.24 tons of trash and the City of Melbourne who recruited 338 volunteers. A HUGE THANK YOU to all of our 313 volunteers that came out to Keep Cocoa Beautiful!
