Detective Bobay was hired by the department on July 14, 1994, as a patrol officer. Prior to that time, Rob served as a Reserve Deputy with the Brevard County Sheriff's Office for two years.
Upon being hired by Cocoa, Rob quickly proved himself to be a competent officer, and was transferred to the Detective Bureau in July of 1996. He has become expert in investigations, particularly in the area of child abuse and sex crimes. He has recently distinguished himself by successfully investigating several high-profile cases, including a shaken-baby case which occurred in a daycare center.
Studies & Major
Rob has a Bachelor's Degree in Liberal Studies from UCF, and many hours of advanced police training. He is currently serving on a department-wide steering team which is working to prepare the department for the next millennium. He is also one of five officers who recently passed the Sergeant's test, and is on the eligibility list for Sergeant.
