Effective October 1, 2019, the City of Cocoa will be transitioning from a monthly standard fee of $7 per single family unit (SFU) on your water utility bill to an annual assessment collected on the annual tax bill mailed by the Brevard County Tax Collector in November.
Fiscal Year 2020 (October 1, 2019 - September 30, 2020) Assessment Rates for Single Family Parcels (residential)*
Tier 1: 400-2,300 sq. ft. of impervious area
Tier 2: 2,400-4,400 sq. ft. impervious area
Tier 3: Greater than 4,400 sq. ft. of impervious area
*Independent of any common area associated with your parcel.

Rate per Equivalent Residential Unit (ERU)
Non-single-family (commercial) properties will be charged a fee based on the number of Equivalent Residential Units (ERU) their impervious area represents. One ERU is equal to the impervious surface area of a typical single-family property in the City, which has been determined to be 3,100 square feet of impervious surface area.

Impervious Area Appeal Form
If you feel there is a discrepancy in the impervious area determined for your property, you may submit an appeals form to the City of Cocoa's Stormwater Division by clicking on the button to the right. A member of the Stormwater team will reach out to you regarding your appeal as soon as possible.
Capital Improvement Projects
The stormwater assessment will enable the City to reduce the occurrence of street and structural flooding, provide for a more resilient Cocoa, increase the maintenance of the stormwater systems, increase the frequency of storm system repair, reduce run-off-caused pollution, and improve water quality.
