Sgt. Amy Moon is only the second female sergeant in department history

sgt moonChief Mike Cantaloupe swore in the department’s newest sergeant Monday morning.  Sgt. Amy Moon is a 16-year veteran of the agency.   She is a graduate of then Brevard Community College Criminal Justice Academy (now Eastern Florida State College).  As part of her new duties she will manage a squad of as many as seven officers who will directly report to her.  Sgt. Moon is currently the only active female sergeant serving the department and is the second female sergeant in the department’s history.  “I’m confident she will do great things for the agency and for the city,” Chief Cantaloupe stated.  “We are proud to have her among our leadership ranks!”
