The Cocoa Utilities Department reached out to local schools across the county to submit artwork for the American Water Works Association "Drop Savers" Water Conservation Poster Contest during National Drinking Water Week, May 7-13, 2017. The contest gives children from kindergarten through high school the opportunity to design a poster about water conservation. The winning local entries were submitted to the state-wide competition. The local winners were announced at the May 9, 2017 City Council Meeting and given a certificate of appreciation for their participation in the contest. There were four local winners chosen to participate at the state level of which two participated in the awards ceremony at Council; Maya Filosa - Kindergarten, Quest Elementary and Alaina Dion - 3rd Grade, Quest Elementary.
