The City of Cocoa held it's annual service awards for those employees who have served this great city for 5, 10, 15, 20 and 25 years. The City was honored to recognize 26 employees for their service commitment. Employees included our City Manager who began with the City of Cocoa as the Economic Development Manager and was promoted to Community Development Director and then to City Manager, Charles McGrath who has been a School Crossing Guard for the City for the last 5 years but also has volunteered much of his time with the V-Cop program, and John Taylor who began his career with the city as a Maintenance Worker 1 and then transferred as an Apprentice Operator and now has the highest level of Certified Operator Lead A.
Employees with 10 or less years of service to the City were honored with a certificate and those employees with 15 years of service or more were honored with a plaque before Cocoa City Council on January 10, 2017. The City is proud to honor all of these dedicated and committed individuals that give their time and talents to this great community that we serve on a daily basis.
