Florida Avenue Road Construction Update

Construction Notifications

On Monday, March 13, crews will be paving Florida Avenue from Factory Street to Stone Street. The road will be closed during this time to allow the pavers to complete the paving and for painting of the crosswalks and center line to occur. Please observe the detours and flaggers who will direct traffic around the paving operation. Paving will take approximately 2-3 hours and the road will be completely open for vehicular traffic upon completion.

Beginning on Tuesday, March 14, crews will begin the road demolition of Florida Avenue from Stone Street to SR 520. Because of the traffic concerns associated with this location, the construction will be limited to one-lane at a time. The road will not be fully closed during this final phase of the operation to allow cars to pass. Flaggers will be positioned to safely direct traffic through the construction. The posted speed limit along Florida Avenue in the construction area is 15 m.p.h. Please be considerate of the speed limit for the safety of our construction crews.

Thank you for your patience during this construction period. If you have any questions, please contact my office.

Construction crews will be paving Florida/Forrest Avenue between Stone Street and SR 520 on Thursday morning, April 27th beginning at approximately 7:00am. The road will be closed temporarily for approximately 2 hours to accommodate the paving process. In addition, all side streets connected to Florida Avenue in the project limits will be paved tomorrow. Rolling road blocks will occur as crews move from street to street to pave.

Please observe the posted road detour signs to make your way around the construction activity. Thank you again for your patience during this construction period. The project is almost finished as we expect the final paving to occur during the week of May 15-19.
