Florida Avenue Road Closure

Florida Avenue Road Closure - From Orange Street to Stone Street - Access to City Hall

The intersection of Orange Street and Florida Avenue will be closed beginning on Wednesday, February 8 for approximately 2-3 weeks so crews can begin working on the curb, sidewalk, drainage, irrigation and the roadway. The City Hall parking lot and the Post Office parking lot will be accessible using other routes. Florida Avenue will be closed from Orange Street to Lemon Street and eventually to Stone Street. The following alternate routes are available to utilize during this construction period.

For vehicles driving on Florida Ave. from the north: Take Florida Avenue and turn left on Stone Street. Go around the corner at Brevard Court to Orange Street to access the City Hall or Post Office parking lots.

For vehicles driving on Florida Ave. from the south: Take Florida Avenue to Rosa L. Jones Boulevard and turn right at the stop sign. Turn left on John Garren Lane and proceed to Orange Street to access the City Hall or Post Office parking lots.

To leave City Hall, all vehicles will take Orange Street to John Garren Lane or Orange Street to Brevard Avenue to access Florida Avenue to the south or SR 520 to the north.

If you are parking in the north City parking lot off of Stone Street, you will not be affected by the road closure.

If you are parking in the City lot to the west of City Hall, you will not be affected by the road closure. Please be careful when walking across Florida Avenue to get to City Hall, crews may divert you a little north or south to avoid wet concrete.

Construction crews will work to open Florida Avenue each Friday afternoon for the weekend and close it again the following Monday.

Thank you for your patience during this construction period. If you have any questions, please contact my office.
