As City Councilman of Cocoa, my focus is to serve the citizens and businesses in the city. I will strive and commit to help the city meet its changing and diverse needs to make Cocoa a better place to live and work for all. My focus is to support the city’s efforts in redeveloping our neighborhoods, in creating new jobs, and in improving the quality of Cocoa’s educational environment and life for all.
I am proud to be the City Councilman for District 1 and a member of the City Council. I previously served as Mayor of Cocoa from 2004-2012, as Chair to the Cocoa Redevelopment Agency, and liaison to our Weed and Seed and Save Our Neighborhood organizations. In 2008, I served as President for the Space Coast League of Cities, and have served two years on the Florida League of Cities Executive Mayoral Board. I have also volunteered service on City task forces, boards, and committees, and the political awareness committee for my church.
During my previous tenure, I had the pleasure of seeing the completion of our new City Hall and Utilities Administration Building, the opening of our new Sam’s Club and Aldi grocery store, and the continued beautification of the city.
My career is in education. I teach at Cocoa Jr./Sr. High School, a Cocoa “A” School, and have enjoyed coaching high school football and basketball. I am a graduate of Cocoa High School and received my undergraduate degree from South Carolina State.
I’m proud to be a native of Cocoa – I’ve spent my entire life here. I enjoy jazz, movies, aquatics, football, NASCAR, jet-skiing, history, and teaching.
