FLORIDA AVENUE STREETSCAPE PROJECT

The work to be bid consists of furnishing all labor, transportation, services, and incidentals; and performing all work specified in the bid documents to construct:
The project scope includes a complete street project along Florida Avenue from King St. (S.R. 520) to the southern-most City limits, south of Rosa L Jones Drive. The project length in total is approximately 0.49 miles. The project will include roadway reconstruction, new sidewalk on both sides of Florida Avenue, new curb and gutter, on-street parallel parking (permeable interlocking concrete unit pavement), minor storm water improvements,pedestrian scaled decorative streetlights, thermoplastic striping to include sharrows, stamped asphalt crosswalks in certain locations, signage, signage relocation, landscaping (tree grates along the sidewalk), and irrigation. The new sidewalk will be a combination of concrete and brick pavers. Existing driveways are to be reconstructed to meet ADA requirements along with the new sidewalks. The project will also include mobilization, maintenance of traffic (MOT), erosion control, and clearing and grubbing. Existing elements to be removed include asphalt, base, sidewalk, curb and gutter, etc. The decorative pedestrian scaled lighting along the entire length of the project is eligible for funds. A proprietary product form was submitted and approved. The permeable interlocking concrete unit pavement, decorative bollards, 2” schedule 40 PVC conduit, and maintenance bonds will be funded by the City. In addition, the City is proposing to replace the existing watermain with an 8” PVC pipe. Total estimate watermain length is 4,174 linear feet. The watermain project will be fully funded by the City.
