400-PLUS CHILDREN RECEIVED A SPECIAL VISIT FROM SANTA ON THE FEC TOY TRAIN

The 7th Annual Christmas Toy Train operated by Florida East Coast Railway (FECR) made a stop in Cocoa on Saturday. More than 400 Cocoa children identified through the Brevard School system in partnership with Cocoa Community First, the non-profit arm of the Cocoa Police Department waited for the train’s arrival and for Santa to step off and deliver gifts for those with a special golden ticket. The train arrived just before noon at Byrd Plaza and the railroad crossing.  Santa visited, handed out gift bags and took photos with the children and their families before departing to complete the rest of the East Coast tour. The police department and Cocoa Community First provided fresh baked cookies and hot chocolate along with more than 1200 candy canes.  Santa and the train promise to return next year.
