June 8, 2016 5:30 p.m.
Chief Cantaloupe recently met with member of the Historic Cocoa Village Association to discuss local issues and ways to enhance public safety in the downtown business district. Chief Cantaloupe promoted the department's "dropadime" feature which allows residents and business owners to text the department from their iphones and Android devices with information regarding non-emergency matters. The chief encourages the public to report suspicious activity by texting us.

"It's important to connect with each other," Chief Cantaloupe told the group. "The more eyes we have watching and reporting suspicious activity the safer we all are."

Chief Cantaloupe also shared ways the business owners could 'harden the target' to prevent burglaries.
