Thirty Year Police Veteran Retires

Today, Major John Casey celebrates RETIREMENT. Major Casey started with the City of Cocoa Police Department in July of 1986. He began his law enforcement career with the City of Rockledge as a reserve officer in 1985. John comes from a long family line of law enforcement officers with many members being involved in the criminal justice field. He spent most of his career in the investigative field as a detective and narcotics agent. Major Casey obtained an Associate of Arts in Criminal Justice, Bachelor of Science in Management Information Systems, and attended the Southern Police Institute (Command Officers Development Course). He also served as treasurer and president of the local Fraternal Order of Police, representing Cocoa Police Officers and served as chairman of the board of trustees for the police pension board.

Major Casey served as a police officer, detective, narcotics agent, sergeant, lieutenant and will be retired with the honorary rank of chief.
